The northern tip of Kent Island is called “Love Point.” Local legend says that two star-crossed lovers who could never be together died there—and the legendary couple could be English, Native American, Spanish, or a combination of any of the above, depending on who’s telling the story.
Another version of the legend says that ships passing Kent Island had to “luff” their sails to navigate through the strong northwesterly winds in that area. Eventually, “Luff point” evolved to “Love Point”, and the rest is history.
Regardless of which story you want to tell your kids, the Cloverfields neighborhood is the largest Kent Island community, and it’s located in Love Point. Cloverfields has some of the best amenities Kent Island has to offer, including a private beach, pool, boat launch, and playground. The Home Owner’s Association is unbelievably low-priced at $14/month. A wide price range for the homes (from $198,000) means there’s something available for everyone.
